The STAR method is a structured way of answering a behavioral-based interview question, where interviewers attempt to assess a candidate's past behavior in order to predict future behavior in a situation private and similar.

STAR comes from the acronyms of Situation, Task, Action and Result:
  • Situation: Describe the situation you were in or the task you had to perform.
  • Task: What goal were you working on?
  • Action: Describe the actions you took to address the situation.
  • Result: Describes the result of those actions
